Wheel Load Weigher

The Morehouse Truck Wheel Load Weigher Calibrator is designed to speed the calibration and certification of wheel load weighers, yet maintain the high degree of accuracy required for proper certification.  The calibrator can be used to calibrate weighers singly or in pairs with strict accordance with National Bureau of Standards handbook, No. 44.

The calibrator consists of three major parts...the main frame, a hydraulic system and a force standard.

1. The Main Frame holds and aligns the weighers so that they are loaded in series with the force standard.  The main frame contains a loading beam so that forces are applied equally to both of the weighers when they are calibrated in pairs.  When a single weigher is calibrated, it is positioned under the center of the beam.

2.  The Hydraulic System generates the force that is passed through the force standard to the wheel load weighers.  The system has a calibration grade hydraulic cell for precise calibration work and a precision dead weight type tester manual pump with a vernier screw piston for application of minute increments of load.

3.  The Force Standard is ideally a series 200 Morehouse Proving Ring that is loaded in series with the weighers and measures the force as it is applied to the weighers.  The weight indicator of the weighers is read as the force is applied to them through the Proving Ring and is compared with the actual force as measured by the Proving Ring.  The difference in readings between the weighers and the Proving Ring is the error of the weighers.
