Measurement risk is the probability that an incorrect decision will result from a measurement. There is quite a bit of difference between force measurement labs with CMCs of 0.1 %, 0.05 %, 0.02 %, 0.01 %, 0.005 % and 0.002 % of applied force. Not using the right force calibration laboratory with the capability to meet your requirements is similar to using a ruler to calibrate a gauge block. It just does not make sense.

Morehouse force calibration lab can calibrate a variety of force sensors such as load cells, multi-axis transducers, proving rings, force gauges, traction dynamometers, crane scales, bolt testers, aircraft scales, load cell washer, truck wheel load scales, miniature load cells, handheld force gauges, etc. We can provide special services such as shunt calibration check, load simulator calibration, repair broken connectors, and proof loading tests. Morehouse offers ISO/IEC 17025 accredited ASTM E74 and ISO 376 calibrations. Unless otherwise requested, proving rings and other instruments that are used to calibrate testing machines to ASTM E4 and load cells are calibrated in strict accordance with ASTM specifications E74. This is the same specification that the United States National Institute of Standards & Technology now uses for force calibrations. Force gauges, traction dynamometers, and other similar force measuring and weighing devices are calibrated at 10 points throughout their range. Unless requested otherwise, the standard 10 loads are applied in increments equal to 10 percent of the capacity of the device beginning at 10 percent of capacity. Additional loads may be calibrated as desired at an additional price per load, or any other 10 loads will be calibrated at no extra charge in lieu of the standard 10 loads. If instruments are submitted with a specified tolerance, Morehouse will apply a guardband per Method 5 of ANSI/NCSLI Z540.3 Handbook and report Probability of False Accept (PFA) when making a statement of conformity. This ensures compliance with section 188.8.131.52 of ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Special calibration procedures can be performed in accordance with special requests and requirements.

A certificate of
Calibration is issued for all instruments calibrated. The certificate not only
shows tractability to SI units through the United States National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST), but also the uncertainty of the instrument. Load
Cells, Proving Rings and other instruments that are calibrated per ASTM E74
specifications and meet its requirements are provided with a certificate
In addition, a unique QR code is generated for every single calibration. The QR code is printed on the calibration sticker which is normally placed on the instrument after calibration. Customers can easily access the calibration certificate by scanning the QR code on the calibration sticker using a smartphone or other scanning tools.
